How to install a Raspberry Pi

Requirements



Before the installation of Masjidbox Screens on your Raspberry Pi, you need:

Raspberry Pi kit 3 or 4: https://cutt.ly/wYvQgls
RTC Clock (DS3231), it’s optional but recommended in case you have an internet issue in the masjid: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B07RDHPYJD
Etcher to flash the Masjidbox image onto the SD Card: https://www.balena.io/etcher/
Ethernet for the first install.

Step 1: Download Masjidbox OS



Download the latest version of the Masjidbox OS on the Dashboard

Step 2: Download Etcher tool



Download and install the Etcher tool. This tool is used for writing the Masjidbox OS to the SD Card

Step 3: Write the Masjidbox OS Image to your SD Card



Once you have downloaded the image file, use Etcher to write the image to your SD card.



Step 4: Insert the SD Card Into the Raspberry Pi



Eject the SD card from your computer and insert it into the Raspberry Pi

Step 5: Plug your RTC Clock into your Raspberry Pi





Step 6: Connect the Raspberry Pi



Connect the Raspberry Pi to Ethernet, HDMI and USB-C power

Step 7: Turn the Raspberry Pi ON



Turn the Raspberry Pi on, you will see a screen with your device ID: mbx-xxxxxxx

Wait a few minutes to let the first installation finish.

A PIN code will appear on the screen, use this code on the Masjidbox Dashboard to link the Raspberry Pi to your account.
