How do I move my Raspberry Pi to a new account?

To transfer your Raspberry Pi to a different Masjidbox account, you'll need to unpair it from the current account and pair it with the new one.

Before you begin: Make sure you have access to both the old and new Masjidbox accounts.

Step 1: Delete the Raspberry Pi from the old account

Log in to the old account's dashboard at dashboard.masjidbox.com. Navigate to the Screens section, find your Raspberry Pi in the device list, and click the Delete button.

Deleting the device removes it from your account but doesn't erase any data on the Raspberry Pi itself.

Step 2: Power-cycle the Raspberry Pi

Unplug the USB-C power cable from your Raspberry Pi, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. The device will reboot and display its device ID (mbx-xxxxxxx).

Wait 3–5 minutes for the system to initialize. A PIN code will appear on the screen.

Step 3: Pair the Raspberry Pi with the new account

Log in to the new account's dashboard and navigate to dashboard.masjidbox.com/a/screens/link. Enter the PIN code shown on the Raspberry Pi screen to complete the pairing.

Your Raspberry Pi is now connected to the new account. You can configure playlists and content from the new dashboard.

Troubleshooting

If the PIN code doesn't appear after 15 minutes, ensure your Raspberry Pi is connected to the internet via Ethernet. If the issue persists, you may need to reflash the SD card following the steps in How to install a Raspberry Pi.
